Dr. Hillmann was born and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois, a Chicago Suburb. He is a second generation eye care professional. His parents began the family optical business in 1956 manufacturing and supplying eyeglasses to area eye doctors, friends, and family. Much of his youth was spent helping out in the family business, training and working as an optician with over a decade of full-time experience prior to pursuing college. This gave him a unique knowledge and understanding of every aspect of vision correction and eyeglass manufacturing. He received his Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern Illinois University in 1995. He pursued his medical training at the Illinois College of Optometry and was awarded his second bachelor’s degree in Visual Science and his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1999. He holds certification on competency-based examination in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease from THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BOARDS OF EXAMINERS IN OPTOMETRY. He resides in Belvidere with his wife, son, 2 Siamese cats, and German Shepherd dog. Doctor Hillmann enjoys every aspect of Optometry and the eye care business and cares for patients from birth through adulthood. He focuses on primary eye care including the prescribing of eyeglasses and contacts and the diagnosis and management of eye disease.


Randall D. Kittle, O.D.

Dr. Kittle has more than 25 years of experience caring for patient’s vision and the health of their eyes. He was born and raised in Rockford, where his father worked at Sundstrand for over 35 years. He enjoys writing and photography, and is very active in the Christian community having pastored a local church for more than eight years. Dr. Kittle did his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, and entered Illinois College of Optometry to pursue his medical training as one of only five early enrollment candidates. There, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science in 1980 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1981. He resides in Rockford with his wife, Gini, and their son, Benjamin. Doctor Kittle especially enjoys children’s vision and advanced contact lens design, and cares for patients from birth through adulthood. He focuses on primary eye care including the prescribing of eyeglasses and contacts, and the diagnosis and management of eye disease.


David A. Nielsen, O.D. (Ret.)

Dr. David A. Nielsen has more than 30 years experience caring for patient's vision and eye health. He founded Edgebrook Eye Care in 1996. He is a graduate of Monmouth College and the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated cum laude in 1976. Dr. Nielsen has post graduate certification in diagnostic and therapeutic pharmacology. He provides comprehensive eye exams including specialty contact lens fittings, diabetic eye exams, and glaucoma management. He holds certification on competency-based examination in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease from THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BOARDS OF EXAMINERS IN OPTOMETRY.

Dr. Nielsen's hobbies include photography and golf. He is married to his wife Connie, and they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.


Joseph B. Morfoot, O.D.

Dr. Morfoot trained extensively in the management of advanced eye disease including the perioperative care of glaucoma, cataracts, and retina. He is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. While completing his Doctorate, Dr. Morfoot was recognized for both educational and clinical excellence. He was a peer tutor and teaching assistant for multiple optometric courses. He has been a guest lecturer for optometric continuing education. He resides in Crystal Lake with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys keeping active with sports, jogging, scuba, and family. Dr. Morfoot performs comprehensive eye examinations while specializing in the diagnosis and management of eye disease. Professional interests include the fitting of specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and post–LASIK patients. He counsels and co-manages patients for Laser Vision Correction and enjoys pediatric eye examinations.


Will Watson, O.D.

Erika Cleland, O.D.

Dr. Erika Cleland pursued her medical training at the Illinois College of Optometry and was awarded her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2011. She holds certification on competency-based examination in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease from THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BOARDS OF EXAMINERS IN OPTOMETRY. Doctor Cleland cares for patients from birth through adulthood. She focuses on primary eye care including the prescribing of eyeglasses and contacts and the diagnosis and management of eye disease.


Cheryl Jackson, O.D.

Primary Eye Care Center - Crystal Lake

Dr. Cheryl Jackson has 20 years of experience caring for patients of all ages. She graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University and is certified by the International Board of Examiners in Optometry for the treatment and management of ocular disease. Primary eye care is important to Dr. Jackson and she enjoys getting her patients seeing well and providing comprehensive care for their ocular health. She lives in Lake Bluff with her husband and their two children. She enjoys going to the beach with her family and their three dogs and attending her children's sporting events and activities.
