David A. Nielsen, O.D.

Dr. Nielsen founded Edgebrook Eye Care in 1996. He is a graduate of Monmouth College and the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated cum laude in 1976. Dr. Nielsen has post graduate certification in diagnostic and therapeutic pharmacology. He provides comprehensive eye exams including specialty contact lens fittings, diabetic eye exams, and glaucoma managment.

Dr. Nielsen's hobbies include photography and golf. He is married to his wife Connie and they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

Jaime L. King, O.D.

Dr. Jaime L. King joined Edgebrook Eye Care in June 2006. She provides comprehensive eye exams including specialty contact lens fittings, diabetic eye exams, and glaucoma management. Hobbies include spending time with family, boating, running and yoga.

Dr. King, a Belvidere native, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Chicago. There she did research in pharmacology and surgical oncology. She graduated with departmental honors in biology and then proceeded to graduate cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2006.

VA Hudson Valley Health Care System: Montrose, NY. Provided primary eye care with an emphasis on ocular pathology to veterans.

Commonwealth Eye Surgical Center: Lexington, KY. Practiced full scope optometric management of ocular infections, trauma, and pre/post-operative care.

Melbourne Optometry Clinic: Melbourne, Australia. Provided primary eye care, contact lens fittings, and pediatric eye exams.

Illinois Eye Institute: Chicago, IL. Administered pediatric eye exams and visual therapy. Also performed pathology exams in advanced care.
